A Study in Contrasts

2 Comments 26 September 2012

Just as a girl who is both feminine and athletic is adorable as all get out, so is an outfit that blends both the feminine and masculine.  I love the contrast of the feminine statement collar against the grey tee paired with the menswear inspired window pain blue and black skinny pant and the blue suede bow shoe.

The feminine and masculine pieces help to balance one another out, which is great for those of you who don’t want to look too sickeningly sweet or too boyish.  Another plus of this look is that it is polished enough for many work environments, but so comfortable that you will feel like you are getting away with a major dress code violation.  It’s also cute enough to make the transition from work to a little night with friends or your guy.

Style Notes: Old Navy tee (summer 2012) / Gap pants (summer 2012; purchased at 40% off) / Classiques Entier shoes via Last Chance (spring 2012; similar style)/ Kate Spade bag via Last Chance (summer 2012) / H&M collar (summer 2012) / Kate Spade bracelets (spring 2011, fall 2011, spring 2012, summer 2012) / Michael Kors watch via Last Chance (spring 2012; similar style) / Kate Spade ring (fall 2011; similar style) / Loft Sunnies (summer 2012; similar style)

The H&M collar is such a great budget friendly piece. For a mere $25 virtually any shirt can be fancied up!
