Currently Craving: Fall Fashion

0 Comments 21 August 2012

Fall is my absolute favorite time of year.  I love when the temperatures start to dip and things like scarves, long sleeves, and warm layers become essential parts of one’s wardrobe.  The end of August means the dog days of summer are coming to a close for so many, but here in AZ we are still facing many, many long, hot days and nights before a tinge of autumn permeates the air.

Coming from the Midwest, however, I simply cannot wait until the end of October to begin thinking about fall clothes.  To make matters worse, retailers start their siren song about this time and tempt me with beautiful fall colors and textures.  Each year, I try to resist the urge to indulge in fall fashion until the temperatures are a tad more conducive, but there are times, though, when a good deal (ala Loft’s recent 40% off event) comes along and I indulge my need for a head-to-toe fall look.

What I like most about this outfit is that it consists of layers, which, as Kristy previously mentioned, are an essential part of dressing in AZ no matter the season.  These are layers that work now when it is still 100+ degrees and will work later when winter hits (think high 50s and 60s, if we are lucky) with the addition of a pair of tights.  (Money well spent, if I do say so myself!)  I also love this outfit for the individual pieces that are a perfect blend of ladylike and charming: two major fall trends I am absolutely thrilled to continue to embrace.
