Jennifer and I had a great time hosting our Fall Style Workshop last week at Frances Vintage in Phoenix. We focused our presentation on some of the most accessible trends of the season — Black and Gold, Equestrian, Ladylike and Prints — and picked out our favorite representations of those trends from the eclectic mix of clothing and accessories Frances has to offer. The evening began and ended just the way we like it: with snacks and shopping. If you haven’t yet been to Frances, it’s definitely time to stop by, as they still have a number of interesting fall workshops through November.
We want to thank everyone who came out in support of style and local shopping — it was great to see everyone! We especially want to thank Sara and the lovely ladies of Frances for helping us plan the event, and for providing a generous 20% discount and adorable logo shopping bags (love the pins!) to all the participants.
We look forward to participating in our next event, the Fall Clothing Swap CO-OPhx, which will also be held at Frances Vintage (10 W. Camelback) on Sunday, Oct. 28. from 12-4 p.m. We’ve been huge fans of the clothing swap since it first began and think it’s a fantastic way to find a new home for items in your wardrobe you’re ready to part with while picking up some new favorites. Not to mention the fact that the event fosters community and all unswapped items will be donated to Fresh Start Women’s Foundation. We will be offering advice on how to style some of the great items you’ll find at the swap and will also be giving away a closet visit to one lucky attendee. So gather up your swappable items and come on out to make new friends, support your community and get some new clothes!

[...] As Kristy mentioned yesterday, last Thursday we hosted a fall style workshop at an adorable, local boutique, Frances Vintage. I wish I could say I spent that day prepping for our speaking engagement by getting my hair styled and my makeup done, but instead, I spent the day lecturing on literary terms and the finer points of short stories. While my work day prior was anything but stylish, I wanted the outfit I wore to work that day to carry me through to the evening when the real fun began! [...]
